A new study in this week’s Journal of the American College of Cardiology finds that, “Running, even 5 to 10 min/day and at slow speeds < 6 mph, is associated with markedly reduced risks of death from all causes and cardiovascular disease.” Here at Chelsea Foot & Ankle we see many serious running injuries that occur when non-runners decide to take up running. Like any sport or fitness activity, there is a right way to run. If you undertake running incorrectly, there is a very high chance of injury, particularly to your feet and lower extremities.

If you or someone you know is considering taking up running– even light, slow running– PLEASE CONSULT AN EXPERT FIRST! Dr. Ciment and Dr. Kantor treat runners of all sorts and would be happy to help you to get running, safely.
