AS WE ENTER OUR 15TH YEAR…

Posted October 04, 2018 in Podiatrist

It’s really hard to believe that it was 14 years ago today, October 4, 2004, when I saw my first patient at Chelsea Foot and Ankle. At the time, I decided that I wanted to work for myself and within my own community. Chelsea was still the epicenter of New York’s LGBTQ community and it was important for me, as an out gay physician, to be able to offer my community a visible, out podiatrist who treated everything foot and ankle related.

In the nearly decade and a half since starting this adventure, so much has changed. Chelsea is no longer the center of the city’s LGBTQ community. Many internet/tech startups have moved into the neighborhood, following the lead of tech giant Google, who anchored their New York presence on 8th Avenue just a few blocks from our office. With the shifting demographics of the community and our more recent cultural obsession with high-intensity interval training (HIIT), boot camps and spin classes, our neighborhood has trended younger and more active. Adapting to this change, we’ve really worked hard to make our practice one of the premiere podiatric sports medicine practices in New York City. Most importantly, as the healthcare landscape has become increasingly restrictive with each passing year, we’ve adapted to in order to meet our goal of providing high-quality, relationship-based podiatry, offering superior medical and surgical care to everyone who needs it.

As Chelsea Foot and Ankle enters its 15th year, our future is looking so bright. We are looking to expand our physical space and offer even more services. We will continue to treat the entire spectrum of foot and ankle medicine and surgery: from common skin and nail disorders, to sports medicine, from pediatrics to geriatrics, doing elective and reconstructive surgery and diabetic limb salvage, we will always put our patients first and make sure we are rendering state of the art, cutting edge, 21st century medicine.

From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank each and every one of our patients and referring providers for their continued loyalty to our practice. Were it not for you and your continued support of us we simply could not exist. We know that you have a choice when it comes to your healthcare providers and are so grateful you continue to choose Chelsea Foot and Ankle.
